Qualifications, experience and age requirements for nominated overseas workers

TSS requirement

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF bachelor's degree or higher and one year of full-time work experience (or part-time equivalent)
• where the ANZSCO allows work experience to substitute for qualifications, have at least 5 years of relevant full-time work experience (or part-time equivalent). This can be determined by searching on the ANZSCO website for the occupation.

SESR requirement

Applicants

• must be under 55 years of age
• must obtain skills assessment from the relevant authority specified on the Australian Government's Department of Home Affairs website
• must meet one of the following:
  • hold a relevant AQF bachelor's degree or higher obtained in Australia and one year of full-time work experience (or part-time equivalent)
  • hold a relevant overseas qualification equivalent to an AQF bachelor's degree and 2 years of full-time work experience (or part-time equivalent)

ENS requirement

Applicants

• must meet one of the following:

• have been assessed and verified by a MINTRAC registered assessor, or an assessor approved by the Commonwealth, with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment experienced in meat processing, to be Skilled Meat Workers with a minimum skill level commensurate with the MINTRAC referenced AQF Certificate III in meat processing
• meet one of the following:
  • demonstrate a minimum of 2 years skilled work experience obtained at a meat processing enterprise; or
  • have been working in Australia on a Subclass 457 or TSS visa at an Australian meat processing enterprise for at least 9 months prior to being nominated;
  • have at least one year relevant work experience in Australia on a temporary visa other than a Subclass 457 or TSS visa at an Australian meat processing enterprise

• must demonstrate a minimum of 2 years skilled work experience obtained at a meat processing enterprise.
