The Northern Territory Government has provided $1.77 million of grant funding through round 6 of the Visitor Experience Enhancement Program (VEEP).

VEEP seeks to enable the tourism industry to undertake projects that will improve the on-ground visitor experience, generating positive promotion for the Territory.

This round sees 25 local Territory businesses, including Darwin’s Laneway Café,  receive funding of up to $100,000 to contribute towards a range of projects such as accommodation upgrades, improving leisure facilities and expanding hospitality offerings.

Support for small-scale renewables reaffirmed by the Northern Territory (NT) Government with the popular Home and Business Battery Scheme to continue for 2023-24.

First launched in 2020, the scheme has resulted in the installation of over 1,600 batteries across the Territory in just 3 years. The scheme provides grants to homeowners, businesses and not-for-profit organisations of grants up to $5,000 for eligible recipients.

The NT Government is proud to continue to boast the most generous battery grant scheme in the country. Providing eligible Territorians the opportunity for their household or business to install a battery means reduced power bills and improved security and reliability of electricity.

The Territory Government and Darwin Major Business Group Incorporated will lead a Facing North delegation to Canberra in August this year.

In good news for business and industry, the latest Fraser Institute Annual Survey of Mining Companies (2022) shows that the Northern Territory (NT) has been ranked as the leading jurisdiction in the world for mineral potential.

In addition, the Northern Territory has moved into the top 10 in the world for its attractiveness for exploration and mining investment.

This is an increase of 17 places in just 4 years - seeing the NT ranked as the sixth most attractive jurisdiction in the world on the Investment Attraction Index.

The NT Government has seen mineral exploration and production soar in the last few years.

Figures released at the end of last year showed mineral production in the Territory was the second highest value ever recorded in the NT.

For the 2022 financial year, the total value of mineral production was $4.86 billion, up 14% from 2021’s figure of $4.28 billion.

Mineral exploration expenditure has also shot up in the Territory by almost 30% in the 2022 calendar year.

The Fraser Institute survey is a global survey of mining and exploration companies that ranks more than 60 jurisdictions worldwide for their attractiveness for investment.

The Investment Attraction Index rates regions based on their geologic attractiveness as well as measuring the effects of government policy on attitudes toward exploration investment.

The Northern Territory Training Awards celebrates individuals, employers and training providers for their outstanding achievement in training and the ways in which training has benefited them and their communities.

Winners and runners-up can win up to $3,000 cash and eligible winners have the opportunity to represent the Territory at the Australian Training Awards.
