In a major boost for the Red Centre, the new Airnorth Alice Springs-to-Cairns route takes flight today, offering greater connectivity for international visitors coming into the Territory.

The 3-times weekly service will be operated by Airnorth’s Embraer E190 jet and deliver more than 30,000 annual seats further enhancing domestic and international travel itineraries.

This strategic link means travellers from key international markets can experience the Great Barrier Reef and the Red Centre in one seamless itinerary.

It also means Alice Springs residents can now use Cairns as a gateway to Fiji and Japan, improving the liveability of the Territory.

The Alice Springs-Cairns route has been supported by the Territory Aviation Attraction Scheme which secures aviation connectivity, choice and competition.

Promotional sales fares start from $299 one way between Alice Springs and Cairns.
