AirAsia Returns to the Northern Territory
Indonesia AirAsia will return to Darwin in 2025 further opening the Northern Territory to Asia and the rest of the world.
Indonesia AirAsia will resume flights from Darwin to Bali, operating three-weekly direct flights from 22 March. Jeststar Australia also operate on this route.
This route will deliver over 1,000 seats weekly and over 55,000 visitor seats annually through Darwin International Airport and Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, providing a boost to tourism and the economy.
While this route provides non-stop connectivity between Darwin and Bali, it will also serve as an international hub to onwards destinations across the AirAsia Group’s route network.
Passengers from Darwin can enjoy seamless connections via Bali to destinations like Kuala Lumper, Jakarta, Hong Kong and Komodo Island. At the same, time millions of guests from across Asia will be welcomed to the Northern Territory.
This new route will strengthen the Northern Territory’s two-way connection with Asia enabling Territorians to holiday, do business and spend time with family.
It will also enable the Northern Territory to connect with over 4 billion people in the region who may want to visit, study, do business or live and work here.
The NT Government, in partnerships with NT Airports, has regular conversations with prospective airlines to ensure ongoing growth of aviation access for Territorians. The NT Government will continue to work with industry to secure more aviation services and ensure there more flights coming into the Territory.
