2024 Study NT Student Ambassadors Graduate
Twenty international students have wrapped up 12 months of professional development and promoting the Territory as a study destination by graduating from the 2024 Study NT Student Ambassador Program.
The graduation recognised the contribution of our 2024 Student Ambassadors in promoting the Territory as a study destination of choice. The graduation was also a celebration of our Student Ambassadors hard work and achievements over the past year.
As part of the program, Ambassadors:
- undertook professional development sessions including networking, public speaking and social media;
- volunteered at community events such as the Harmony Soiree and Kindness Festival;
- participated in marketing campaigns and photoshoots to help promote the destination; and represented the Territory and;
- shared their study journeys at agent events in Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The 2024 Ambassador cohort represented a range of NT international education and training providers, including Charles Darwin University, Alana Kaye College, Haileybury Rendall School and Australian City International College; as well as a range of nationalities including Chinese, Filipino, Indonesian, Egyptian and Nepalese.
As of August 2024, 5,098 international students were enrolled across 25 NT international education and training providers.
International students strengthen cultural, social, and economic ties and bring diversity to the community and skills to the workforce. Analysis undertaken by Ernst & Young shows, in 2023 each student contributed an average of $41,841 to the NT economy. In 2023, the international education and training sector generated $236.5m in export revenue.
Study NT is committed to increasing the number of international students studying in the Territory and are focused on showcasing the Territory as an ideal study destination, enriching the student experience, and strengthening the international education and training industry.
