Workforce Advisory Grant – applications now open
The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade is seeking applications from suitably qualified Territory organisations to operate its workforce advisory organisation for the next 5 years.
The Workforce Advisory Grant is a competitive grant program that will provide $3 million per annum for a Territory organisation to deliver the services of a workforce advisory organisation.
The workforce advisory organisation will support government, industry and the community to help inform policy, programs and investment decisions. The organisation will:
- engage with peak industry bodies, industry and the training sector to understand the Territory’s workforce and skills needs
- provide information and advice to government identifying priority skills, workforce gaps and challenges and opportunities
- connect and broker relationships and solutions between government, industry, the community and the skills system
- work with national stakeholders and bodies to represent Territory workforce and skills needs including in the development of new training products.
Delivery of functions under the workforce advisory organisation will help identify and address skills gaps in the workforce, facilitate more Territorians take up training opportunities and provide advice to government, industry and the community.
The Workforce Advisory Grant will ensure the successful organisation can continue to carry out this pivotal role.
An industry briefing session on the Workforce Advisory Grant will be held on Friday 18 August at 2pm in the Territory Conference Room at Development House (76 Esplanade, Darwin City NT 0800).
Applications close on Friday 18 September 2023.
The successful applicant is expected to be notified in January 2024 with the new services to commence on 1, July 2024.
