Nominations open for 2023 NT Export Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2023 Chief Minister’s NT Export Awards, celebrating the Territory’s most innovative exporters and recognising their success on the international stage.
Now in its 30th year, the awards celebrate the achievements of extraordinary Territory exporters and the far-reaching impact they have on both the Territory and the nation’s economy.
Last financial year, 6,065 jobs in the Territory were created by the export industry.
The Territory is a significant contributor to Australia’s national trade, with a total value of goods and services exported reaching $15.1 billion in 2021-22, contributing to Australia total exports of $558.8 billion.
The awards help to showcase the Territory’s export success stories and their hard work, resilience and innovation.
Last year international education and training provider Alana Kaye College was named NT Exporter of the Year for their outstanding contribution to the Territory’s international education sector.
The international education sector is worth $400 million to the Northern Territory economy annually and international students strengthen cultural, social and economic ties and bring diversity to the community and skills to our workforce.
This year there are 13 national categories and 3 Territory categories including the NT Exporter of the Year Award.
There are also 2 exciting new categories - Excellence in the Supply Chain Supporting the Export Industry in the Northern Territory and, Excellence in International Trade related events/international trade delegations.
These new categories will provide further opportunities for businesses and industry across the export supply chain to be involved with the export awards program.
Northern Territory winners of national categories will go on to compete at the Australian Export Awards and receive national recognition for their international success.
Nominations close on Friday 9 June 2023.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Friday 6 October 2023.
