Attracting workers in our aged care sector

Published

One of the first projects under the Northern Territory Governments Flexible Workforce Solutions Fund has been awarded which will boost our local workforce and support our economy and community.

Crest NT in partnership with the aged care sector, will look to attract and retain more than 85 workers, in the 55+ age bracket, to support jobs in aged care and services.

Under the fund, Crest NT has been awarded $140,000 to not only attract staff, but to also work with the care and training sector to help build the workforce.

The funding will support Crest to develop and deliver a targeted marketing campaign, create a mature aged workers administrative platform for job matching and deliver support for employers through forums and one-on-one guidance.

Crest NT will now identify which aged care providers need the extra workers.

Over 20 applications were received and are currently being assessed for the Flexible Workforce Solutions Fund. They cover a variety of key industries including agriculture, hospitality and aged care.

The Fund is part of the Territory Government’s $12.8 million Workforce Boost Package which includes a suite of initiatives designed to attract and retain workers to the Territory.
