Arnhem Voices Creative Media Festival

As part of October Business Month, the Arnhem Voices Creative Media Festival brings together creatives, businesses and community to connect, learn, showcase talent and turn creative ideas into opportunity.

From film and photography to design, podcasting and digital content, Arnhem Voices celebrates the people and businesses shaping East Arnhem's growing creative industries.

Throughout the festival, discover local creative capability, build new skills and connections, experience stories created in East Arnhem and explore how the creative industries can support business growth, tourism and new economic opportunities across the region.

Festival Opening Night

1 October | 6pm | Gove Arts Theatre

The Festival Opening Night will feature film trailers and screenings showcasing the region on screen, along with a panel exploring the connection between the screen industry, business and regional opportunity.

Come along to celebrate local creativity and hear how screen production can create opportunities for local businesses, tourism and the broader East Arnhem economy.

Business Capability Workshops

Build practical skills to strengthen your business or creative practice with workshops delivered throughout the festival.

• 28 to 30 September | AFTRS Mobile Content Creation Workshop
  Learn how to plan, shoot and create engaging content using accessible mobile technology.
• 1 to 2 October | AFTRS Podcast and Radio Workshop
  Develop practical skills in audio storytelling, podcasting and radio content creation.
• 19 October | Intellectual Property Workshop
  Learn how to understand, manage and protect your ideas, content and intellectual property.

Short Film Competition

The Arnhem Voices Short Film Competition invites East Arnhem storytellers to create an original short film inspired by the theme 'Embracing Change', celebrating transformation, resilience and innovation.

The competition includes categories for different levels of filmmaking experience, creating opportunities for new and established storytellers to showcase their work.

Entries close on 15 October. Shortlisted films will be celebrated at the Arnhem Voices Film Awards Night on 30 October.

Creative Business Showcase

The Creative Business Showcase is an opportunity for local businesses and creatives to network, showcase capability and explore new collaborations and commercial opportunities. Meet local photographers, graphic designers, filmmakers and digital creatives, explore the services they offer and make new business connections.

Festival Finale – Arnhem Voices Film Awards Night

Finish the festival with a family-friendly evening celebrating the creativity, talent and storytelling of East Arnhem.

See shortlisted films from the Arnhem Voices Short Film Competition on screen and celebrate the filmmakers behind them, culminating in the announcement of the competition winners.
